Welcome to Record Breakin’ Music (RBM), a Philadelphia-based indie record label started by tastemaker DJ Junior. We have a straightforward approach to releasing quality new music with a soulful foundation.
DJ Junior has been dropping soulful gems for some time now. Eavesdrop Radio, his weekly radio show on WKDU 91.7FM (that he co-host with lil' dave) is a staple for music heads tuning in for jazz, soul, hip hop, latin grooves, afro-beat, broken beat and everything in-between.
Our focus has and always will be to present quality music to a culture that embraces it. There’s much more to come.

Black jazz is the keY
We invited some good friends to curate a mix of some of their favorite Black Jazz Records. Black Jazz Records was a jazz record company and label founded in Oakland, California by pianist Gene Russell and percussionist Dick Schory. The label was created to promote the talents of young African American jazz musicians and singers, and released twenty albums between 1971 and 1975. Lend Me Your Ear is the first release Record Breakin' Music put out in 2006. It's a compilation curated by DJ Junior of incredible music that he was playing on his radio show Eavesdrop Radio. It was also a personal release because Junior had established relationships with all of the featured artist that contributed to this project. We strongly believe these selections have stood the test of time and will continue to be classics but you can judge for yourself
